Kerri Elizabeth Irvine, MA  is a painter and art therapist, living in Cary, North Carolina.  Her work has always been inspired by the natural world, and continues to present visions of growth and living dynamics.  Her art career has evolved with the influence from work as an art therapist.  She has increasingly recognized how her emotional world has shaped what she sees.

"When I am outside I tend to focus on small details.  I admire the beauty of the whole, but I move in closer to absorb something more.  I don't just stand back; I want to be drawn in.  I respond to visual sensations with watercolor or acrylic paint.  The forms and colors are pulled in from the out side and I make them my own."

Ms. Irvine's most recent paintings, presented on this site, are painted with watercolor and acrylic on paper.  On display in the collection  abstract images, as well as studies of small scenes and natural objects (leaves, plants, shells).

The artist has shown her work in Canada, Maryland, and Chicago, Illinois and many of her pieces are in private collections
